We would like to apologise for the delay in getting this year’s JoomlaDay UK off the ground. Sadly, Microsoft no longer have a large event venue in central London which left us scouting for a new one.

We are holding two sets of dates at a proposed venue and would like your help to choose the best one, the dates are 7th/8th July and 18/19th August.

It would really help us to get a good feel for the event if you could fill out the 2017 Survey, we won’t hold you to your answers, we promise!

We have often heard that although people get a lot out of a JoomlaDay, attendees would love to see more in depth workshop style sessions too, so we are looking to run a “Workshop” day on the Friday this year. The workshop day would consist of 2 half day workshops with 3 tracks to choose from, a total of 6 sessions. One session would be dedicated to the Administrator Exam with a Revision/Setup Session beforehand. Workshops would be pre-booked with a maximum of 24 seats per workshop. The Saturday would follow a normal JoomlaDay format with keynotes and breakout sessions across 4 tracks a total of 23 sessions to choose from.

jduk 16 pubWhilst we have been unable to source a free venue and catering, which enabled us to do a ticket price of £25 last year, we have found a central London location with reasonable day delegate rates and accommodation available onsite.

The day delegate rate includes 3 coffee breaks on each day and a 3-course lunch in the venue restaurant on the Friday and a 3-course fork buffet on the Saturday.

We are looking at a ticket price of around £80 for the Saturday. We understand this is a lot more than last year, but we have only added the Day Delegate Rate from the venue to the price of the ticket last year (£25+£55) for the Saturday.

For both days, we are looking at a ticket price of £200. The cost of the Friday is higher, as we wish to attract a high-quality range of workshops and need to ensure that we can at least cover the presenters travel and accommodation costs.

Dependent on the dates selected the hotel room rates for the onsite venue are between £105 and £130 per night including full English breakfast for a single room, twin rooms are £10 more per night. There is also a cheaper alternative hotel 2 minutes’ walk away with rooms starting from £60 per night including breakfast, a steal in central London.

We are looking at running a partners’/children’s programme alongside to enable those travelling from further afield to bring their families and make a weekend of it.
